Care Instructions To Keep Your Leather Looking New


Do's:

  • Dust or vacuum regularly using a soft brush attachment to remove abrasive dirt and grit.

  • Wipe down occasionally with a slightly damp (not wet) clean cloth; use distilled water for protected leather, and a dry cloth for aniline leather.

  • Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth or paper towel, working from the outside in to prevent spreading.

  • Use leather-specific cleaners and conditioners suited to your leather type.

  • Condition leather 1-2 times yearly with a quality conditioner to keep it supple and prevent drying and cracking. Apply sparingly and buff gently.

  • Rotate and fluff cushions regularly for even wear and shape maintenance.

  • Consult a professional leather cleaner for deep cleaning or persistent stains, especially on delicate leathers like aniline or nubuck/suede.

  • Avoid soaking leather with water or cleaning solutions, as excess moisture is harmful.

  • Do not use harsh chemical cleaners, solvents, detergents, ammonia, bleach, furniture polish, saddle soap, or abrasives, as they strip oils and damage the finish.

  • Refrain from rubbing spills, especially on aniline or nubuck/suede, to prevent spreading and surface damage.

  • Avoid steam cleaners.

  • Keep leather away from heat sources and prolonged direct sunlight.

  • Prevent contact with sharp objects to avoid scratches and punctures; be cautious with buckles, keys, and pet claws.

  • Avoid placing newspapers or dark denim on light-colored leather, as ink and dye can transfer.

  • Do not use oily or greasy products not designed for leather, as they can stain or leave a residue.
